The Elizabethtown College Education Department hosts this lecture series every spring semester. This year's theme promoted equity in education and featured 4 education alumni who shared their experiences.

Peace Fellow Lecture: Dr. Christena Cleveland

The Elizabethtown College Center for Global Understanding and Peacemaking hosted Dr. Christena Cleveland in the Fall 2022 semester. She presented her lecture "The Living Ghosts of Anti-Blackness."

Professional Development

 Pennsylvania Act 55
Training

As a substitute teacher in Pennsylvania, I participated in an online webinar based Act 55 Training. This training went into detail on threat assessments and trauma-informed practice/response as a substitute teacher. This training was extremely informative and relevant to what we see in classrooms today.

Gigi's Educator Symposium

Strategies for Individuals with Down Syndrome: Presentations from a team of experienced educators and therapists from across the GiGi’s Playhouse Network to learn how to teach individuals with Down syndrome the way they learn best.

Chapter 49: Structured Literacy

Central Dauphin School District's in-service teacher training on  effectively implementing structured literacy into the classroom. This training was mandatory for all educators who held a Pennsylvania certification in early childhood, elementary/middle-level, special education, reading specialist, and/or ESL. It was important as a college student to see where the future of education and the future of literacy is headed so I am better prepared to teach my future students.

IRIS Center Modules

The IRIS Center is a national center dedicated to improving education outcomes for all children, especially those with disabilities birth through age twenty-one, through the use of effective evidence-based practices and interventions. Please view the modules I have completed below.
